Commodore 64 Sound Chip Music
Here are my SID songs. The SID was the famous sound chip used in the Commodore 64, which was the most popular home computer of the 1980s. The SID chip offered 3 voices, 4 oscillators, a filter and ring modulation. These tunes are actually executable files that will run a on standard Commodore 64 computer. To master this, you'll need to work within the sound limits mentioned above, and within the technical limits defined by the computer's specs, that is maximum 64kb RAM and less than 1MHz processing power. So this specific art form requires technical know how and a clever arrangement to achieve the impression of a full song. Enjoy!
New States Of Consciousness
Vaporwave / Chillwave: missed the hype, but here it is. 😊
Heavily inspired by the 1996 track Street Knowledge
by my friend Orion Deluxe (aka Second Face), basically this is a remake.
inSIDiots unite
This house track is a sound demo for the inSIDious VSTi, the definitive SID chip emulator for your DAW. Mike Clarke, the programmer of the plugin, asked me to create patches for it, an honour I gladly accepted.
La Mer
The idea was: how does a c64 house track fare against modern music in a tough competition from the demoscene's most talented?
The Tuneful Eight
In 2018, Steffen Goerzig approached me with an idea for a new demo and a world first: 8 SID chips in one C64. Almost one year later, we've released the demo at Evoke 2019 in cologne, winning second place in the Alternative Platform
competition.

Mellowhouse
Here's my personal entry for the $11 wave music competition. Apart from the usual limitations of doing music on the c64, the rules of this competition state that only the triangle waveform may be used for the song. The triangle waveform is a very soft sound, so it was challenging to create punchy and treble instruments with it.
$11 Heaven
My first co production with legendary composer Jeroen Tel, and at the same time my first Maniacs of Noise release.
This was our contribution to the $11 wave competition held at CSDb in February 2018.
Mad Scientist (Amiga Mod)
This is not a c64, but an Amiga tune for a change. It's a ProTracker mod, made completely out of unmodified sounds from the ST-01 sound disk, that was shipped with the original Soundtracker in 1987.
Giana Sisters DS
Remake of the title tune of Giana Sisters for the Nintendo DS, released 2009. The tune was composed and arranged by Fabian del Priore aka Rapture, and is itself a cover of Chris Hülsbeck's original Giana Sisters Title Theme. The screen was hand-pixelled by me, based on Alex Pikomi
Pierschel's original artwork.
